At FEL Network, we define a fractional leader as an experienced executive who joins your team on an interim, part-time or contract basis. This means you get strategic guidance and leadership without the full-time commitment. Our fractional leaders are top-tier strategists, dedicated to helping you solve problems and open opportunities you might not even have identified yet. Our team bring invaluable expertise to the table, making them a flexible and powerful resource for your business. Short-term or long-term solutions are available.

We know that high-level strategy work doesn’t require a full-time working week. You might only need 8-10 hours a week or 40 hours a month of an executive’s brain, the rest of the time is usually spent on people management and execution. Paying a full-time executive salary for that full range of time for such tasks rarely makes sense as most of the time these tasks can be allocated to a member of staff on a significantly lower salary. Our fractional leaders handle the strategy and set up the right team structure, then lower-cost positions or your existing team take care of delivery. That saves you money while keeping executive-level thinking where it matters.

We provide experienced fractional senior leaders across Marketing & Growth, Commercial & Sales, Operations, Events and Creative, including CMOs, CEOs, COOs, CCOs, Heads of Marketing, Sales Directors, Events Directors, Creative Directors, Heads of Design and Content Directors. Each specialist brings proven senior-level experience and can step into your business to lead the areas where you need additional expertise and support.

We bring hands-on, senior experience to set direction, prioritise initiatives, and align the teams. Our leaders create measurable, bespoke plans, steer execution through your team or hires we recommend, and remove the guesswork so you see progress faster.

We work across all industries in the event world and service outside of the event world with media, memberships, retail, FMCG, e-commerce, agriculture, health and beauty, spa, leisure, hospitality, sustainability, and commercial sport. Our leaders have extensively worked in the field in all of these areas and bring to you a new sense of direction with transferable success models across industry.

A consultant advises; a fractional leader embeds. Our leaders take ownership, guide day-to-day strategy, and make sure plans are executed; -not just handed back as a slide deck. They will become part of your team the same as an employee would.

You avoid full-time salaries, benefits and long-term overheads while getting C-Suite and director level expertise. Fractional engagements let you direct spend to where and when it’s needed most giving strategy and effective delivery without unnecessary fixed costs.

Typical signs: rapid growth, unclear strategy, leadership gaps, or projects that need senior direction but not a full-time exec. You may also be looking to see if an uncommitted project is viable, such as a new event, new membership model, new product. If you need senior-level decisions and structure quickly, a fractional leader is a smart move.

It varies. Some companies need a few months to set strategy and handover; others keep a fractional leader for years as ongoing executive support. We tailor duration to your goals.

Look for proven experience in your sector and clear examples of outcomes. At FEL Network, we match you with leaders who’ve done it before and who can step in immediately to move the dial.
